Who will be the NCAA Player of the Year?

White guys were once the dominant race in basketball, well, during the Boston Celtics era of Larry Bird at least where the team then was rumored to take Caucasian players EXCLUSIVELY.

This era was destroyed when the Magic Johnsons, the Isaiah Thomases and of course, the Michael Jordans, began to challenge the proverbial ''Great White Stranglehold.''

After years of watching black guys strut their stuff, it seems the white guys are back. Two of 'em at least.

Duke senior J.J. Redick and Gonzaga junior Adam Morrison.

They are certainly this year's top stars in all of NCAA College Basketball. And they happen to be white, proving the cliché that white men can't jump BUT they can surely shoot the basketball.

But, who's the best?

Even USA Basketball can't come up with a conclusion about who among these two college cagers is THE ONE. What they did was the inevitable, they got both of them.

''They are two different players although they are both great scorers. Both of them are very competitive. I think some collegiate players going into this type of situation would be a little intimidated. I don't think either one of these guys will,'' said Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski, the man who will also be coaching the US National team.

Both these guys DESERVE the national player of the year award. These guys both DESERVE to be national champions, but with the way the NCAA College Basketball season is going, it looks like J.J. Will bag that one.

''I would say co-player of the year,'' Tar Heel head coach Roy Williams said Friday.

''They've both done so much, but if I have to pick someone, I would pick J.J. because I've seen him more, coached against him and tried to stop him. I haven't had to do that with Adam, but I love watching him play,'' he added.
